Holistic Dentistry
Holistic dentistry has become such a profound method of caring for your teeth, gums and entire mouth. The holistic approach believes that the wellness and health of your entire body will reflect during your dental appointments. Healthier teeth and gums start with a healthier and more balanced mind, body and spirit. Through holistic dentistry, we believe that you can appreciate a healthier and more wholesome smile.
What is Holistic Dentistry?
The belief behind holistic dentistry is that your every part of your body is directly connected to your health. We don’t like to just fix, check and clean your teeth. We want to provide a fully realized connection between the health of your mouth and the health of the rest of your body. Through the holistic approach, we can improve the health of your teeth and gums while simultaneously helping you to make healthier choices about your body’s well-being. Holistic dentistry is sometimes referred to as biological dentistry, since it incorporates your entire body’s wellness with the health of your teeth and gums.
Dr Alice Lam has my highest recommendation. I went in for a routine dental visit and Dr Lam took the time to ask how I was doing overall, not just my teeth. Well, I was having some severe chronic pain issues unrelated (i thought) to my dental health and she listened to me. She's working with me to stabilize my bite and restore my body to a neutral position, and I'm already experiencing great results from it- my whole body, not just my teeth/jaw! I'm so thankful to have hope again and the possibility to live a life free from chronic pain. For me this is a miracle and Dr Lam is an angel. Thank you for your patience and kindness - it is so rare in today's hectic world.

What Does Holistic Dentistry Involve?
The holistic approach to dentistry involves a connection between your body’s well-being with the health and condition of your smile. Some of the different elements focused on concerning holistic dentistry include:
- Proper nutrition for healthier teeth and gums
- Elimination and avoidance of harmful dental materials
- Removal and replacement of amalgam (metal) fillings
- Treatment of malocclusion problems (problems with bite can equate to problems with imbalance)
- Treatment and total prevention of gum disease at its core basis
- Nonsurgical gum disease treatment
- Instruction on proper care of teeth and gums using natural, wholesome products
- Elimination of fluoride overuse
- Emphasis on preventative care
While holistic dentistry is still a relatively new concept for a lot of people, it has its roots planted firmly in the human body’s biological core. The rule of holistic dentistry is that it should promote wellness and health rather than simply focusing on the treatment of disease and infection. After all, your smile can only shine when you are healthy and vibrant yourself.
Benefits of Holistic Dentistry
Holistic dentistry is more involved in preventative care rather than simply treating diseases. The goal of this approach is to promote healthier teeth and gums while using more natural and less invasive techniques to heal problems that may arise over time. This type of dentistry can be beneficial to all different patients of varying ages, since its focus is on a whole-body connection rather than simply fixing problems that might come up.

Lorem IpsumĀ is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
